Taco Bell Arena
One of the top sports and entertainment venues in the West, the 13,000-seat Taco Bell Arena is home to Bronco men’s and women’s basketball and hosts the Boise State commencement ceremonies twice a year.
Originally named the Boise State Pavilion, the Arena has hosted several NCAA postseason athletic tournaments, has welcomed the Women’s Basketball West Regional Finals and the Women’s National Gymnastics Championships and periodically hosts National Basketball Association preseason games and other sporting events such as figure skating, boxing, tennis and rodeos.
In addition, the Taco Bell Arena attracts a wide range of concerts — including pop superstars Elton John and Billy Joel, who performed in September 2006 and November 2007, respectively — trade shows, high school commencements and conferences. Since its opening in 1982, the Arena has held more than 2,000 events and welcomed more than 5 million patrons through its doors.
