About 1,000 full- and part-time faculty members are dedicated to excellence in teaching at Boise State. Many faculty members are nationally and internationally recognized experts in their fields. Others consult with business and industry, educational institutions, government agencies and professional groups worldwide, or spearhead groundbreaking research. Former NASA astronaut and educator Barbara Morgan is a Distinguished Educator in Residence at Boise State, working to provide vision and leadership to the State of Idaho on science, technology, engineering and math education. The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching has named a Boise State faculty member as Idaho Teacher of the Year 11 times since 1990. Among other honors, Boise State faculty also have been named Idaho Art Educator of the Year, Idaho Social Worker of the Year and international Fulbright Scholars. |
